The 2026 Black Diamond Rodeo Returns to the Arena June 5th & 6th!
Passing the crown and carrying the legacy forward. Madalynn Whimpey, who was part of bringing this tradition back to life, crowns Izabell Jensen as our 2026–2027 Rodeo Queen. Izabell earned this title and steps into a role that represents the continued growth of the Black Diamond Rodeo. Another year begins, and the next chapter is underway.
We saw a high level of talent and effort in this year’s Black Diamond Rodeo Queen Competition. Contestants competed across interview, speech, modeling, and horsemanship, bringing professionalism and energy to every phase. This competition continues to set the tone for what our rodeo represents, and this year’s group delivered in a big way.

The Black Diamond Rodeo Queen Competition is a respected tradition that honors young women who exemplify horsemanship, professionalism, confidence, and western values. This is more than a pageant. It is a leadership role and a year-long commitment to representing the Black Diamond Rodeo, Carbon County, and the sport of rodeo with pride and integrity.
Contestants compete for the opportunity to serve as an official ambassador, make meaningful community appearances, and carry forward a legacy rooted in western heritage.
This competition is for young women who are prepared to:
Represent the Black Diamond Rodeo with professionalism and poise
Demonstrate strong horsemanship and communication skills
Commit to a full schedule of sanctioned events and appearances
Uphold the traditions and standards of rodeo royalty
Applicants must meet all eligibility requirements outlined in the Queen Competition Rules & Information document.
Contestants are evaluated in key areas essential to rodeo royalty:
Interview – confidence, character, and communication
Speech & Impromptu Question – preparation, clarity, and composure
Modeling & Presentation – poise and western style
Horsemanship – skill, control, and professionalism
Judging is conducted by qualified professionals, and all decisions are final.

Beyond the prizes, the titleholder gains visibility, leadership experience, and the honor of representing a long-standing rodeo tradition.
The Black Diamond Rodeo Queen is expected to prioritize this title, attend all approved events, and conduct herself in a manner that reflects positively on the rodeo and the community. This role is both an honor and a responsibility.
